Grades:	Tests (10% or 20% each):  There will be 4 closed-book tests.
	Final (40%): There will be a cumulative final exam.
	Homework: There will be 5 homework assignments of
		medium-difficult problems.  Homework is worth an 
		"extra" 10% in addition to your test/final exam average.
		(There will also be *recommended* easier problems from
		 the textbook, with solutions available to you.)

POLICIES: Homework is due at the *beginning* of class.  If you cannot
make it to class, have someone slip it under my office door *before
the end of class*. NO LATE HOMEWORKS!! 	
	*Collaboration* on homework is allowed (encouraged, even), but
write up your solutions by yourself.  
	NO MAKE-UP TESTS (except in EXTRAORDINARY circumstances and
with advance notice).  Each test will take place a full week after the
material for that test is covered. 
	Each test (including the final exam) will be curved to a
90-80-70-60 scale, with the curve announced when the test is handed
back to you.
