Ch. 12 Spatial Coordinates and Vectors 10 lectures Ch. 13 Motion and Curves 4 lectures Ch. 14 Multivariable Differentials 8 lectures Ch. 15 Multiple Integrals 13 lectures *any remaining class time will be for review* (number of lectures per chapter is approximate) Grades: Homework (15%) Weekly assignments from the textbook will be announced on Fridays and will be due the following Monday, at the *beginning* of class. If you cannot make it to class, have someone slip it under my office door *before the end of class*--NO LATE HOMEWORKS!! The lowest homework score will be dropped. *Collaboration* is allowed (encouraged, even), but write up your solutions by yourself. There will also be suggested homework that you do not need to turn in. Tests (15% each) Each test will take place a full week after the material for that test is covered. Ch. 12 Fri 2 Oct. Chs. 13 & 14 Fri 30 Oct. Ch. 15 Fri 4 Dec. NO MAKE-UP TESTS (except in EXTRAORDINARY circumstances and with advance notice). Final (40%) cumulative--Mon 14 Dec., 1:00-3:45pm If your final exam grade is higher than your course grade, your course grade will become the final exam grade, provided you took each of the tests during the semester, and turned in 80% of the homeworks. Each test (including the final exam) will be curved to a 90-80-70-60 scale, with the curve announced when the test is handed back to you. Important dates: Labor Day (no class) Mon 7 Sep.
