About Me

I am a Professor in the Department of Mathematical Sciences and a core faculty of the Computational Science Program (CPS) at the University of Texas at El Paso. I am also the lead PI of the UTEP-led Energy Earthshot project sponsored by the Department of Energy. I have received my Ph.D. in Mathematics from Purdue University under the guidance of the late Dr. Jim Doulgas, Jr. Prior to joining UTEP in 2009, I was a postdoctoral research associate in the Multiscale Mathematics research group led by Drs. Ralph Showalter and Malgorzata Peszynska at Oregon State University. My general research interests are in Numerical analysis and Scientific Computing.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, working out at the gym, and trying new cooking recipies. I also love to travel and explore new places and cultures during my vacation time.
