Master of Science in Statistics

Each student's program will be designed individually to meet the student's interests and goals.

Faculty research occurs in the areas of theoretical and applied statistics. The Statistics program accomodates students desiring an applied background for a career in government and industry as well as students desiring a more theoretical background for further graduate studies.

Admission Requirements

Entry into the program requires a minimum of nine hours of suitable upper division course work in mathematics and/or statistics.

In addition, it is expected that the student possesses a good working knowledge of a high level computer language such as SAS, R (Splus) or Matlab.

TOEFL score of 550 or higher is required for international applicants whose first language is not English or who have not completed a university degree in the U.S. or other English-Speaking institution.

Students with inadequate undergraduate preparation may be conditionally admitted and will be required to remove any deficiencies after entry into the program.

The GRE is not required for admission into the program.
