Overview
UTEP's College of Science offers two year, part-time Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) degrees for both Mathematics and Science.
The MAT program provides an opportunity for middle and high school teachers (or aspiring teachers) to earn an advanced degree taught at a level that will be of value in middle and high school classrooms.
Participants attend two evening and/or weekend classes during the fall and spring semesters and two daytime, week day classes during the summer.
Both degrees require 36 hours of coursework and participants work their way through the program in a cohort. Upon successful completion of this degree, teachers will be qualified to teach dual credit classes.
