The Department of Mathematical Sciences offers the following undergraduate degrees:
- Bachelor of Science in Mathematics
- Bachelor of Science in Mathematics with Secondary Teaching Certification
- Bachelor of Science in Mathematics with concentration in Actuarial Sciences
- Bachelor of Science in Mathematics with concentration in Applied Mathematics
- Bachelor of Science in Mathematics with concentration in Statistics
- Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics
- Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics with Secondary Teaching Certification
The department has a history of successfully preparing students for graduate
studies, for a teaching career, as well as for
positions in industry.
Our regular faculty consists of
eight Professors, eleven Associate Professors, and seven Assistant Professors.
Seventeen of the 26 regular faculty members have published research articles in
refereed journals within the past three years; twenty of them are designated "graduate"
faculty, eligible to teach in the graduate program.
The department has
about a quarter of a million dollars in teaching related grants and close to one
million in research related grants over a three year period.
The department undergraduate students have access to the Math ACES computer laboratory, located on the first floor of Bell Hall.
Club Ø is our
Mathematics students club. The club members meet weekly,
organize student talks, play sports etc.
The department is committed to diversifying the ethnicity, race, and gender of the
